Online poker has become world famous recently, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous variations on the earliest poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling blackjack than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no bluffing or different types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up before the dealer declares "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the casino and of course all of the different players attain 5 cards each. After you have seen your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you must either make a call wager or surrender. The call bet’s amount is akin to your beginning wager, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your ante goes directly to the dealer. After the bet is the showdown. If the dealer does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, including a figure equal to the original wager. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The house pays out money equal to your wager and fixed odds on your call bet. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
