Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker player on the globe by most of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching the age of one. His papa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to learn whatever he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the negative feedback from other people destroy his ambition of being one of the greatest poker players on the planet.
He began competing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved 2 final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he destroyed a number of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an immeasurable passion for poker. He says that he’s learning every single day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. Phil admits to making mistakes every single game of poker and constantly strives to improve.
Although Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a normal basis.
