Web poker has become globally famous lately, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years numerous variants on the earliest poker game have been created, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to twenty-one than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the casino rather than each other. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no bluffing or other types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the croupier declares "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other gamblers acquire five cards each. After you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s initial card, you must in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call wager’s value is on same level to your original bet, which means that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your wager goes instantaneously to the casino. After the bet comes the showdown. If the dealer does not have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, plus an amount equal to the original bet. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The dealer pony’s up chips equal to your initial bet and set odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
