Ah, the poker steam. If a poker gambler claims never to have looked over the barrel of an approaching poker tilt – they’re either lying or they have not been betting for a long time. This doesn’t infer of course that every player has been on steam before, a few players have excellent control and carry their losses as a loss and leave it at that. To be a good poker gambler, it is absolutely critical to treat your wins and your defeats in a similar manner – with little emotion. You participate in the game the same way you did after taking a hard beat as you would after winning a huge hand. Many of the poker pros are not tempted by tilting following a bad beat as they are very seasoned and you really should be to.

You need to understand that you will not win each and every hand you’re in, regardless if you are strongly favored. Hands which frequently make people go on tilt are hands you were the favored or at least thought you were up until you were rivered and you squandered a huge portion of your stack. Bad losses are bound to develop. Embrace that idea right now, I will say it once again – if your brother plays cards, if your mother enjoys cards, if your grandpa plays cards – They have all had bad beats sometime. It is an unavoidable experience of competing in Holdem, or for that matter any kind of poker.

Since we are assumingly (almost all of us) in the game for a single reason – to win money, it does make sense that we will wager appropriately to maximize profits. Now let us say you are up $100 off of a 100 dollars deposit, and you take a large blow in a NL game and your bankroll is down to one hundred and twenty dollars. You’ve lost eighty dollars in a round where you were assured to pick up $200two hundred dollars when you decided to go all-in on the flop and held a 10 – 1 edge. And that fish! He banged you out on the river? – Well hold it right there. This is a classic choice for a fresh gambler to start tilting. They basically blew too much $$$$ on one hand that they really should have won and they are pissed
