Pai Gow Poker is a current game with old ancestry. Based on the ancient Chinese tile game and the modern American version of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the east with the western in a wonderful game for new gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player versus the croupier, not like most other poker games that gamblers wager against other gamblers. By playing against the dealer, beginner players don’t need to worry about any other, more advanced people taking their cash.

Another Pai Gow benefit is the relatively leisurely game pace, beginners can take their time and plan while not needing to make frenzied decisions.

It is also much simpler to wager on for an extended time with basically a small bit of money seeing as, to lose, each of your hands has to be lower than both of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the regular 52-card basic deck and one joker. The player is assigned seven cards face up and the casino is dealt 7 cards face down.

A 5 card hand and a 2 card hand need to be made from the seven cards, the 5 card hand must be better than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be better than the casino’s.
